Are you looking for personal and confidential counselling to help you come to terms with difficulties or a loss?

I specialise in personal development, self-acceptance and coping with change using integrative counselling methods to help you find the best version of yourself. Person Centred Therapy and Schema Therapy form the foundation on which my practise is built, but I also use elements from other modalities including CBT, Compassion Focussed Therapy and Mindfulness among others.

Specific areas of interest:

  • Identity, uncovering your true and authentic self and personal niche in society whether it is related to gender, race, cultural background or something else

  • Couples counselling, promoting clear and open lines of communication enabling informed choices leading to the best possible outcomes for both, based on the Gottman method and Chapman’s theories.

  • Relationship issues, promoting clear and open communication with others

  • Bereavement, not only a death or pregnancy loss but also the loss of a marriage, previous identity etc based on Kubler-Ross’s stages of grief, Worden’s tasks of grief and Tonkin’s growth around grief

  • Acculturation and Migration, adapting to new cultural environments and resulting changes in family relationships. Also second generation identity and adaptations.

  • Trauma, avoiding retraumatising with the focus on moving away from guilt and shame using elements of Schema Therapy and the models of grief to move forwards.

  • Neurodiversity, building a skillset to cope with your own or a loved one’s neurodiversity.

  • Change and Transition, adapting to changes in circumstances, eg, leaving the armed forces, career changes, moving to a new geographic

  • Faith, religion and spirituality, do you need to express your views and explore your beliefs without judgement? Do you have an existential crisis needing Existential Therapy?

Through experience, I have helped many find peace when faced with difficult situations, helped to bring an understanding, and supported finding a path to a happier future. With a friendly and supportive approach, I hope to be able to help you get through your current situation and help you learn how to heal and grow.

Sessions are generally an hour long and predominantly online with limited face-to-face availability.

Sessions are initially person-centred, but as the sessions develop other elements may be added according to your needs. There is usually an optional follow-up worksheet after the session.

Sessions are usually offered in blocks of 6 which can be extended indefinitely. The expectation is that couples counselling would normally require more than one block of six to see meaningful change.
